The Polk County Tigers is a youth development organization focused on empowering youth aged 3-14 through athletics and personal growth. We provide a safe, uplifting environment for children to build confidence, discipline, and teamwork through athletic and education programs rooted in empowerment and mentorship. Our organization is built on the belief that children thrive when their community shows up for them—not just during games, but in the classroom, at home, and in their personal development journeys.

Founder & President

ROSEMARIE MITCHELL

Rosemarie “Rosie” Mitchell serves as President and Co-Founder of Polk County Tigers, Inc. With a background in leadership, finance, and community service, Rosie is passionate about creating positive opportunities for youth both on and off the field. Dedicated to planting lasting roots in the community she calls home, she leads the Tigers with a vision that centers on building a family-oriented environment where every child can grow in confidence, teamwork, and pride for their community. Under her leadership, the Tigers are building a strong foundation of integrity, unity, and opportunity for all.

Vice President

DEREK
RIVERS

Derek serves as Vice President of the Tigers. A dedicated community leader and member of law enforcement, Derek brings both discipline and passion to the organization. With a background in football at the high school and collegiate levels, he has carried his love for the sport into training young athletes and adult players in football and powerlifting. Beyond the field, Derek is committed to giving back to the community and developing the next generation of athletes - helping them grow in strength, character, and confidence both on and off the field. He also loves long walks on the beach.

Football Commissioner

JEROME
MITCHELL

Jerome “Coach Mitch” Mitchell is our co-founder and serves as our Football Commissioner. A lifelong athlete with years of experience coaching youth basketball and football, Coach Mitch is deeply committed to mentoring young athletes and helping them grow both on and off the field. He believes the lessons learned through sports - discipline, teamwork, and perseverance - build the foundation for lifelong leadership. Known for his hands-on approach and genuine love for the kids, Coach Mitch is dedicated to creating opportunities that inspire confidence, character, and community pride in every player. He believes, “A good coach can change a game, but a great coach can change a life.”

Treasurer

KATHARINA
REEKMANS

Katharina “Kat” Reekmans is an accomplished tax analyst, Enrolled Agent, and financial educator with extensive experience in accounting, compliance, and nonprofit operations. She has worked with collegiate athletes nationwide, providing guidance on NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) income, financial literacy, and tax education. As Treasurer of the Polk County Tigers, Katharina brings a deep commitment to transparency, accountability, and community development. Her goal is to ensure the organization’s financial health while empowering local youth and families through sports and education.

DOMINGUEZ

Lola Dominguez serves as our Marketing Director & Secretary, bringing years of experience in the marketing industry. She has also served as a mentor to several students through her former internship program. Lola is dedicated to introducing innovative ideas and enhancing our organization's visibility within the community. With her leadership, we look forward to expanding our roster of partners and parents and connecting with our local community in meaningful ways.

Jacie Rivers is a loving mother with a deep passion for youth development and community service. As Compliance Officer for PCT, she is resourceful, detail-oriented, and dedicated to ensuring that every player and cheerleader participates in a safe, positive, and well-structured environment. Jacie’s commitment to excellence helps uphold the organization’s integrity and ensures that families can trust the Tigers’ mission both on and off the field.

Scholastic Coordinator

Shana serves as the Scholastic Coordinator for the Tigers. With a caring heart and a background in the medical field, Shana brings a nurturing spirit to the Tigers family. As a proud and devoted team mom, she understands how important it is for every child to grow both academically and athletically. Shana is passionate about helping student-athletes reach their full potential–encouraging them to stay focused in school, work hard on the field, and take pride in everything they do. Her warmth, dedication, and family-first approach make her an essential part of the Tigers community.
